Analysis and Implications of Domestic Patents Related to a grip instrument

Abstract
Objective: In this study, the invention patent registered with the Korean Intellectual Property Office was targeted to search for information on domestic patents related to grip devices, and the title of the patent was used as a Keyword.

Method: It was collected from a patent information search service(KIPRIS, www.kipris.or.kr) owned by the Korean Intellectual Property Office. A total of 281 patents were found from January 1974 to December 2019.

Results: First, it is judged to be influence various media outlets and the increasing social interest in health care since the 2000s. Second, it is believed that the aging of the population worldwide has led to the active study of grip strength and health, and the demand for relatively easy-to-do exercises among busy modern people has increased, which has led to the emergence of grip equipment as a well-being industry. Third, interest in various contests and intellectual property rights has increased in line with the fourth industrial revolution era.

Conclusions: In addition to the grip function, intensive research and development on areas that can explore new markets by combining Korea s ICT(Information & Communication Technology), and various sensors, although the proportion of production is currently low, such as games, grip gauges, and body composition analyzer through biometric measurements, etc. in addition to the grip function, is expected to be needed.
